Non-EU: Long-stay visa (>90 days) or Long-term Residence Permit for study purposes via Czech embassy. Since 2011, students apply for residence permit which acts as visa. Biometrics at embassy. EU: register at MOI (Ministry of Interior) if >30 days.
Proof of CZK 4,250/month (€170) for academic year (15× for visa = €2,550/year); often shown as bank statement covering entire first year. Tuition fee proof also required if applicable.
Non-EU students: exempt from employee card/work permit requirement for employment up to 30 days/year (full-time); no hour cap if enrolled (since 2019 reform). EU: full work rights. Minimum wage CZK 18,900/month (~€760, 2024).
Employee Card for job-seeking: 9-month long-term residence permit for graduates of Czech HEIs (Bachelor's+) for job-seeking. Pathway to EU Blue Card for qualified employment.
Student dorm (kolej) €100–€200/month (limited, demand high), shared flat €200–€350/month, studio €350–€550/month. Prague most expensive.
